Kingsmeadow Football Academy

Evolution Football Coaching are proud to be in partnership with Kingsmeadow Community School, which is based in school using state of the art facilities.

This innovative new venture will allow those students who are successful in gaining a place on the programme the opportunity to enjoy a stimulating and challenging football programme, while benefitting from a world-class education here at Kingsmeadow.

The way the programme works is very simple: Each year a selection process, undertaken by Evolution Football, will identify a group of boys and girls to begin the programme in both year 7 and year 12. This process will be repeated in time for the start of each academic year and students are able to stay on the programme until they leave school.

All students on the programme will benefit from a minimum of six hours of advanced football coaching per week from fully qualified football coaches running alongside a rigorous educational curriculum in school. Academy Manager & Head Coach, Ross McKay and Assistant Head Coach, Craig Lynch are both ex-professional players and are able to draw on the support from over 10+ qualified coaches within Evolution Football Coaching. Evolution Football Coaching aim to provide all of the students on the programme with opportunities to progress in the world of football, preparing them for a career in this highly-competitive but rewarding environment.

However, this cannot be achieved without an outstanding education and this will remain the primary focus at Kingsmeadow, ensuring that all students on the programme are integrated within the life of the school and follow the exceptional high-standards which Kingsmeadow set for all of their students. Students will be expected to maintain a high level of achievement in order to ensure success.

The programme will help to develop committed and enthusiastic children while improving their skills and abilities in other key areas. Football will be used to develop their education as well as key life skills such as time management, reliability, determination, team-work and respect.

Initially, our intake will be for year 7 boys and girls, aged between 11-12 in September 2016 and year 12 boys and girls, aged between 15-16 in September 2016. Those students applying for places must be able to demonstrate an appropriate aptitude and existing skill-base in football.

The programme will enable our students to:

Maximise their potential to become professional football players

Gain opportunities as a semi-professional player

Acquire coaching and/or refereeing qualifications

Access international scholarship opportunities

Access professional qualifications in other sports

Experience a high level of competitive football, including opportunities to enter international tournaments

During the course of the programme students will be given the opportunity to gain a number of additional qualifications and as they approach Sixth Form, may be given the opportunity will have the opportunity to apply for football scholarships in the USA.
