Head Coach: Ross McKay

Ross started his career playing for North Shields Juniors and Wallsend Boys Club where he went on to attract a lot of attention from a number of high profile Professional Clubs, notably, Manchester United where he was offered a contract personally by Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford. Other clubs that expressed an interest along with contract offers were Rangers, Newcastle United, Middlesbrough Chelsea and Blackburn Rovers, amongst a number of other Premier League & Championship sides. 

Ross signed Professional terms with Blackburn Rovers at 16 years old and moved their once he completed High School in 2001. Ross unfortunately had to retire at the age of 19 due to ongoing injuries and finally a career ending injury in 2004.

After a number of operations and a few years out of Football, Ross moved into coaching starting at Grassroots level and over the years progressing up through various levels of coaching and gaining extensive coaching qualifications. Ross has coached at boys club level, Elite College level, Internationally and Senior Level in Level 7 of the Football Pyramid.

Ross is currently our Head Coach within Evolution and oversees not only Player Development but also Coach Development. Ross heads up the Elite Academy, the Development Centre and our prestigious Kingsmeadow Football Academy.

Ross is also Head Coach at North Shields Athletic F.C. in the Northern Alliance Premier Division and has recently coached Internationally with Manchester City & City Football Schools.

Ross is currently working towards his UEFA A Licence in 2017.

Qualifications: UEFA B Licence, FA Level 2, FA Youth Award (Mod 1,2,3), FA First Aid, FA Safeguarding Children, FA Licenced Coach, BTEC National Diploma in Sport.

Lead Coach: Craig Lynch

Craig's career started with Sunderland AFC from the age of 6. He progressed through the academy and reserves up to first team level over a 15 year period with the Black Cats whilst dealing with injury setbacks along the way. 

 During his time at Sunderland he made 2 appearances in the Premier league against Wolves and Fulham in the 2010/2011 season under Steve Bruce in which Sunderland secured a top 10 finish. I was also a regular substitute including; against Manchester city at the Etihad and Middlesbrough in the FA Cup. I also represented Sunderland in the Peace Cup in South Korea under Martin O’Neil. During my time at Sunderland I had a brief loan spell at Hartlepool playing in 8 games starting 2 of them and scoring one goal.

After 15 years at Sunderland I left at 21 years old and signed a 6month deal at Rochdale securing Promotion to League 1 in the 2013/14 season after a short spell I moved into semi-professional level playing in the evo-stick north division with Blyth Spartans.

Craig is currently our Assistant Coach and works reguraly alongside Head Coach Ross at the Elite Academy, Development Centre and Kingsmeadow Academy.

Craig is also a current first team player at Seaham Red Star in the Northern League Division 1.

Qualifications: UEFA B Licence, FA Level 2, FA Level 1 Futsal, FA First Aid, FA Safeguarding Children, FA Licenced Coach.

Fitness Coach: Anthony Errington

Anthony joins the Evolution Coaching staff with a wealth of experience in sports fitness, conditioning and coaching at grassroots level. Anthony played for the famous Wallsend Boys Club for a number of years before signing professional terms with Bolton Wanderers at the age of 16. Anthony enjoyed success with Bolton playing regularly for their U17, U19 and Reserve team. He has played locally for Newcastle Benfield, North Shields, West Allotment all in the Northern League Division 1. Anthony currently plays for North Shields Athletic who reside in the Northern Alliance Premier Division. As well as his footballing experience, Anthony has gained a number of qualifications in sports fitness over the years and coached locally with North Shields Juniors for a number of years.

Anthony is one of 7 coaches who coaches at the Development Centre every Friday night at Kingsmeadow School.

Anthony will also be assisting Ross & Craig at the Elite Academy from Jan 2017, (KFA from Sept 2017) both in coaching and fitness area's to help improve our Academy squads

Qualifications: Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing, Level 3 Certificate in Personal Training, Fa Level 1 Certificate in Coaching Football, Cal South E Licence in Soccer,  Level 3 Certificate in Swedish Massage, Level 2 Exercise to Music, MMA Fitness & Conditioning, Indoor Cycling, Group Circuit Training, Water Based Exercise, Sports Nutrition, Kettlebell Training & Boxercise.

Coach: Bruno Pilatos

Bruno Pilatos is a young coach with bags of enthusiasm and a well developed technical skillset. Bruno started his career at Middlesbrough F.C. Academy and spent 7 years at the Academy working his way through the youth ranks and into the Reserve Squad.

Bruno has also represented the England National team throughout youth level and up through into the U21's. Bruno has played in the Northern League for Jarrow Roofing over recent years and is currently with Bishop Auckland in the Northern League Division 1.

Bruno has coaching experience both in the UK and in the USA with children ranging from 5-15 years old and he has coached with Evolution Football Coaching now for the last 18 months.

Qualifications: FA Level 2, FA First Aid, FA Safeguarding Children

Coach: Courtney Lock

Courtney is a new addition to Evolution, she has played football since the age of 10 at a competitive level and she continues to do so. Courtney first signed for Newcastle at the age of 15 where she remained for 7 years and was captain before departing for Middlesbrough. Throughout this time Courtney also played for Gateshead College and Northumbria University in the National BUCS leagues where they won numerous titles including: BUCS National championships, ECFA National champions and British College National Champions.

Through playing it was then that Courtney decided to complete her coaching badges. Courtney completed her level 1 when she was 16. Since then Courtney has completed her level 2 football and level 2 goalkeeping qualification. She has recently completed her Youth Module 3 assessment and attained a 1st class undergraduate degree in Sport Development with coaching. Courtney continues to work at Sunderland Girls Regional Talent Centre where she is starting her fifth season and currently coaching the under 10 age group. In addition Courtney is also currently studying an MSC in International Sport Management and hopes to start my UEFA B Licence when this is finished.

My coaching philosophy is to create a positive learning environment which allows young players to express themselves freely to enable them to grow and develop whilst having fun. As well as creating good players I think it is important to be a positive role model who also creates good people.

Qualifications: FA Level 1 & 2 in Coaching, FA Level 2 Goalkeeping, Youth Modules (1,2,3), Undergraduate Degree in Sports Development within Coaching

Coach: Dillon Morse

Dillon is a centre half and has been from an early age. He started by playing football for my local team, Fulwell FC. He then went on to play for Hartlepool United Centre of Excellence at the age of 14. At 16, he then moved to Carlisle United where he signed a two year scholarship. After Carlisle, he attended Gateshead College where he did an apprenticeship in coaching and also played for Northern League team, Newcastle Benfield.  After an impressive start to the season Dillon was offered a professional contract with Gateshead FC.  Dillon has playing experience with Blyth Spartans and is currently playing for South Shields F.C. in Northern League Division 1.

Dillon's biggest achievement so far in his footballing career was scoring for Carlisle United in the Youth Alliance final.

Dillon is a very enthusiastic individual with a high level of technical football ability, he looks forward to improving each player within Evolution Football.

Dillon is one of 7 coaches who coaches at the Development Centre every Friday night at Kingsmeadow School.

Dillon is working towards his UEFA B Licence in the near future.
